Most businesses reach a point where the tools they have stop fitting. A spreadsheet that four people maintain by hand. A process where the same data gets typed into two systems. Something that worked fine at ten customers and does not work at all at two hundred. Off-the-shelf software solves the common problems well; it rarely solves the specific one that is actually costing you time.

We build software to close those gaps. Much of our work is in Python, and a good deal of it is the kind of system that has to run unattended and be trusted — scheduled jobs, integrations between systems that were never designed to talk to each other, and internal tools that replace manual steps. On one platform we built custom components to pull data from a third-party financial API on a daily schedule, with the run reporting its own outcome to the team afterwards.

We write things to be run by people who are not us. That means code that reads clearly, configuration kept separate from logic, containerized environments so the system behaves the same on a laptop as it does in production, and failures that announce themselves instead of passing silently. Software that only its author can operate is a liability, however well it performs on day one.

We are equally willing to say when custom software is the wrong answer. If an existing product covers ninety percent of what you need, that is usually the better buy, and we will tell you so. The projects worth building are the ones where the thing you do differently is the thing the software has to support.

Work usually starts small and deliberately so — one workflow, built and put in front of real users, before committing to a larger scope. It is the fastest way to find out whether we have understood the problem correctly, and it means you are never far from something usable.
